Applicants for our palliative care nurse practitioner jobs should have excellent communication skills, a caring and compassionate attitude, and the ability to empathise with patients undergoing end-of-life care. Essential qualifications include a Certificate III/Certificate IV in Aged Care or Individual Supports, a Diploma in Health/Social Care, and at least 12 months of employment, including clinical placements. Critical thinking, understanding of patients’ nutritional requirements, risk assessment and prevention skills, along with excellent communication and leadership skills, are a must. You will also need to have strong organization and time management skills. Your role is crucial in improving patients’ quality of life, and as such, it requires you to be consistently professional, energetic, and passionate.

Job Description

As a palliative care nurse practitioner, you will be providing emotional, physical, and personal support to palliative care clients. Your key duties will encompass pain management, charting patients’ conditions, liaising with physicians, and preparing patients for exams and treatments. You will also monitor patients for side effects and reactions, maintain skin integrity, and provide emotional and social support to both patients and their loved ones.

Essential Qualifications

  • Consistency and ability to follow through.
  • Professional – human, friendly, but not needy or dependent.

Salary / Pay

  • We generally offer higher rates of pay than all other care providers in and around Sydney
  • AUD per hour Minimum is $25 -$35
  • Pro-rated amount
