We are looking for compassionate, dedicated individuals for private home care assistant jobs. Candidates should have a Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support and hold a First Aid Certificate. Experience in working with the elderly and strong listening, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills are crucial for this role. An understanding of how to cater to each client’s individual needs and concerns and a passion for caring for the elderly are vital. Familiarity with health insurance and aged care, as well as being aware of realistic goals and limitations, will aid you greatly in this role.

Job Description

As a private home care assistant, you'll provide critical support to aged care clients, including personal care like showering, dressing, and assistance with mobility. Domestic tasks, such as shopping and meal preparation, will also fall under your responsibilities. You will work collaboratively with our care team, placing choice and dignity at the centre of all activities. Encouraging nutrition, accompanying clients to appointments, and light exercise are also key aspects of the role. This job offers flexible working hours, with options for part-time, casual, or full-time roles across Sydney and surrounds.

Essential Qualifications

  • Being aware of realistic goals and limitations – making sure you understand each person and their strengths, needs, goals, and support needs.
  • Consistency and ability to follow through.
  • Professional – human, friendly, but not needy or dependent.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills by not only verbalising communication but by being attentive to what clients have to say too.
