What is a domestic assistant?
Domestic assistants play an important role in ensuring that clients live comfortably, safely and well in their own homes. This assistance can even extend to providing care for children or elderly dependents.
Our domestic assistants at Care For Family are trained in offering general household assistance to our clients and are kind, compassionate, and trustworthy.
A domestic assistant can perform a huge variety of duties around the home, including cooking and cleaning, washing and ironing, shopping for food, gardening, and running household errands.
First and foremost, your domestic assistant aims to support you in any way they can, to keep your household running smoothly and safely; helping you to maintain your independence and the lifestyle you love.

What domestic assistance do I need?
Like all of the care services we offer at Care For Family, our domestic assistance services are organised for our clients based on a care plan. This plan is devised during our aged care assessment process, for elderly clients, for example, where we take into account the input of our clients and their family.
Another avenue to seeking domestic assistance services is a referral by a medical practitioner such as your GP. GPs and other medical practitioners may suggest domestic support services for patients who could benefit from assistance due to limited mobility, a disability, or an age-related illness, for example.
Of course, you don’t need to be referred by a doctor to request domestic assistance services. If you’re finding that you could use a little extra help around the home, on a regular or occasional basis, you can reach out to us directly at Care For Family.
No matter your reasons for seeking domestic assistance, we will work closely with you to develop a care plan which matches your needs and assists you in maintaining your independence and lifestyle.
Are there domestic assistance services near me?

We can even provide transport to and from medical or other appointments, or to social engagements. After all, domestic assistance services aim to keep you living your life as independently as possible and doing the things you love.
At Care For Family, we work closely with you to develop a domestic assistance care plan to meet your needs and provide you with choice and control over the services you access.
