Domestic assistance costs and funding

We offer transparent pricing with no set-up or exit fees. You can fund your care privately, through aged care funding, or via the NDIS. Every quote is tailored to your needs, based on the hours and type of support required.

We understand that navigating care budgets can feel complicated,  and we’re here to explain your options in a way that’s easy to understand, so you can make informed decisions.

NDIS participants

Care For Family is an associated NDIS provider, supporting plan-managed and self-managed participants. We provide practical domestic assistance at home, which can usually be funded from your Core Supports budget (for example, assistance with daily living and personal domestic activities). We’ll help you link your supports to the right budget categories and stay within NDIA pricing limits.

Aged care funding

After a formal aged care assessment, you may be able to use government funding (for example, through the new Support at Home program – previously Home Care Packages) to cover some or all of your domestic assistance. We can usually work alongside your chosen aged care provider to deliver in-home help with your chosen household tasks.

Private pay

We also offer private, pay-as-you-go services for those without government funding or who are waiting for approvals.  It is of course, very common for families to choose a mix of government-funded hours and private top-ups.

What is the difference between domestic assistance and personal care?
Domestic assistance focuses on the physical upkeep of your home such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation. Personal care involves direct physical support for the individual, such as assistance with showering, dressing, grooming, and mobility. We can seamlessly provide both depending on your personalised support plan.
Can I get a cleaner through the NDIS?
Yes. If you are exploring domestic assistance NDIS guidelines, you can use your plan for cleaning if it is deemed reasonable and necessary for your disability. Self-managed or plan-managed participants typically use their NDIS domestic assistance budget to hire care workers for essential household upkeep, rather than a generic cleaning service.
